Cross selling through employees to drive productivity
SBI Card is a subsidiary of India's largest bank, State Bank of India - a $USD32 billion conglomerate. SBI has over 90 000 employees spread over 21 000 branches.
They had been sourcing credit card applications through agencies and were witnessing a decline. SBI Card was desirous of adding branch sourcing as an additional avenue to increase sales. We worked with SBI Card to provide a solution that motivated branch employees to cross-sell credit card applications through a reward program.
The program united employees across all branches with the intent to increase brand and product advocacy, thereby motivating them to sell credit cards to new customers. Employees were awarded points that were redeemable across an extensive reward catalogue.
The program provided real-time application status data, hierarchical performance reporting and is available through the web, corporate intranet and mobile.
Since the program's inception, over 400 000 applications have been sourced, with a high activation and low default rate.
